Chinese people made fight into arts, and Cangzhou----the hometown of martial art, is an important headstream of kungfu and the shrine of martial field. 历史上，沧州武林高手辈出且讲义气，重武德，从不持强凌弱，各地武林同道称道再三。南北镖师相戒“镖不喊沧州”以示敬意。仅从明朝到清光绪二十七年（1901）废止武术科举制度，沧州就有武举人、武进士1800余人，就是在外洋侵略，设擂台侮华时，也有沧州义士登台搏击取胜，鼓舞华人心志：清康熙十五年（1676），丁发祥在北京击败设擂台的俄国两武师；宣统元年（1909）霍元甲在上海未曾交手便使设擂台辱我为“东亚病夫”的英国大力士奥皮因落荒而逃，1910年击败日本柔道会会长及率领的10余名技击高手；民国七年（1918）王子平在北京五色土擂台打败俄国辱华武士康泰尔；民国十四年（1925）佟忠义在上海虹口擂台打败日本柔道家......而这些武术大师对黎民百姓却是仁义淳厚，亲如一家。
In history,Cangzhou master-hands emerged in every generation, who reputed for their attaching great importance to moral about wushu and never using their strength to bully the weak. In the old days, armed escorts both from north and south had acknowledged the rule of 'No escort demonstrated in sound at Cangzhou ' in order to show their respect to Cangzhou. From Ming Dynasty untill the 27th year of Guangxu of Qing Dynasty(1901), out of the Jurens[a successful candidate in the imperial examinations at the provincial level in the Ming and Qing dynasties] and Jinshis[a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations] on Kungfu, more than 1800 were from Cangzhou. In times when aggressive foreign challengers set arenas in China, many Cangzhou righteous persons came up to defeat them, which greatly inspirited Chinese people: In the 15th year of Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1676), Ding Fa-Xiang defeated both of the Russian warriors who had set arena in Beijing; In the 1st year of Xuantong(1909), Huo Yuan-Jia scared the British giant away in Shanghai, who had set the arena and contemned Chinese as ' the ill of East Asia'; and in 1910, Huo won over ten master-hands led by the chairman of Judo Oganization from Japan; In the 7th year of Minguo (1918), Wang Zi-Ping vanquished Kontare, an aggressive Russain warrior, at Five-colour-soil artena in Beijing; In the 14th year of Minguo (1925), Tong Zhong-yi frustrated the Japan judo master on Hongkou arena in Shanghai...
历史步入今天，中国人以博大的胸怀敞开国门，与世界各国的武林高手切磋，仅几年之间，先后与美国职业拳击、泰国泰拳、韩国跆拳道、日本空手道和柔道等世界高手登擂比武，均取得了令人满意的成绩。中国已经成功地申办了2008年奥运会，届时中国武术和散手将成为奥运项目向世界展示其无穷的魅力！
