NOTE: This is the basic passing system taught to our beginning students. It forms the foundation for more sophisticated methods that follow.
1. Having uncrossed Ryan's ankles, Michael pins Ryan's right leg to the ground.
2. Reaching underneath Ryan's left leg, Michael grips the back of Ryan's neck and drives his weight froward while keeping his hips down and head up. View rotated for clarity
3. Keeping the weight on Ryan's upper chest and hamstring, Michael walks around to the side.
4. Michael pushes his chest forward to clear the leg and establishes side control.
